When the Barbourville Garden Club Members, Jo-Allen Broughton, Brad Broughton & Anne Pedersen came to Corbin Health and Rehab, they brought their expertise and hands-on approach to develop the “green thumb” of residents during their lesson on plating tomatoes.

The crew planted five tomato plants including: Cherokee Purple, Amelia, Beef Steak & Grape varieties. To avoid any possible injuries or pain during planting, Pedersen and the Broughtons taught the participants how to plant in an ergonomic way, without bending & hurting their backs

According to the Corbin HRC activities director, with plenty of watering and tending to, the residents will get to enjoy the fruit of their labor in late August.
